Direct Billing is a service Paris Dental Centre offers, where we handle the submission of insurance claims directly to your insurance provider on your behalf and they will in turn pay us directly based on your coverage eligibility.
Direct billing eliminates the need for you to pay the full cost of dental services upfront and then seek reimbursement from your insurance company. It simplifies the payment process for you and ensures that you only need to pay co-payments, deductibles or any ineligible fees or costs specified by your insurance plan out-of-pocket.
You will need to provide us with your up-to-date insurance information, including your policy and plan numbers and any other relevant details. We ask you to provide us with a photo of the front and back of your insurance card so we can keep it on your file in the event there are any discrepancies.
While direct billing covers many of the costs, you may still have co-payments or deductibles as outlined in your insurance plan. Our team will send an estimate for any treatment required and communicate any financial responsibilities you may have before proceeding with treatment providing your insurance company responds with the coverage electronically. If they do not, you may need to wait for the response to be sent to you by either mail, email, or through their mobile app.
A co-payment is a fixed amount of money based on your insurance plan that a patient is required to pay out-of-pocket for a specific dental service. This figure can be a set dollar figure or a percentage of billing. It is important to be aware of your co-payment responsibilities as your plan is a contract between you and your insurance company and Paris Dental Centre does not have access to that information.
A deductible refers to the amount of money that an insured individual must pay out-of-pocket for covered dental services before their insurance plan starts to contribute to the cost of those services. It is a fixed annual amount that the insured patient is responsible for paying before the insurance coverage kicks in. Understanding the deductible is crucial for insured individuals to budget for their dental care expenses and make informed decisions about their oral health treatments based on their coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
Yes. If you prefer to pay upfront on the date of treatment and have the insurance company reimburse you directly, that is certainly an available option.
Paris Dental Centre accepts VISA, MasterCard, Interac, cheque and cash. You can also pay online by setting up a payee as Paris Dental Centre and using your account number on your invoice. We offer the option to securely store a credit card number on file with us. This allows us to process any co-payment or deductible that may be applicable to your treatment once we receive payment from your insurance company. If you choose not to provide a credit card, you may wait until we receive payment from your insurance; however, we do require prompt payment of any outstanding balance once we have been reimbursed by your insurance provider. This policy ensures timely processing of payments and helps maintain seamless financial transactions for our patients.
In the event that an outstanding balance on your account remains unpaid for a period exceeding 30 days without any communication or arrangement made with Paris Dental Centre, we reserve the right to suspend direct billing privileges for any future treatment. Consequently, payment will be required in full on the date of service for all subsequent appointments.
Please note that failure to address overdue balances may result in the accrual of interest charges, and in cases of prolonged non-payment despite our attempts to contact you, the account may be referred to a collection agency for further action.
